HR Tech company, HRLocker, today announced an initiative to help businesses manage their workforces remotely while supporting a number of key charities through the Covid-19 lockdown.
The deal will provide UK businesses with up to 15 free licenses for the HRLocker Dual Working Professional Package for six months in return for a donation of £100, all of which will go to Redthread, a youth work charity that supports and enables young people to lead healthy, safe and happy lives.
Adam Coleman, CEO of HRLocker, comments, “The crisis is putting a huge strain on every element of society, with the most vulnerable at significant risk. This campaign is about businesses helping charities. Through a concerted, collaborative effort we can both minimise business disruption and provide much-needed support to those who need it most.”
The pandemic’s toll on the global economy is unparalleled, with the IMF predicting it will trigger the worst fallout since the Great Depression of the 1930s. In the face of such economic challenges, businesses need all the support they can get.
For traditional businesses, unfamiliar with remote working and lacking the systems and processes for such a business model, the transition has been particularly difficult. Some key features of the HRLocker package, which help minimise workforce disruption, include:
Meanwhile, the lockdown has created the perfect storm for charities. Reports of domestic abuse have rocketed since its introduction, while vulnerable individuals, including the elderly and mentally ill require greater support to cope.
At the same time, fundraising activities, have completely evaporated, putting huge pressure on the UK’s many not-for-profit organisations when they’re needed most. Research from the Institute of Fundraising, published at the end of March, revealed 43 per cent of charities have reported an increase in demand for their services, but at the same time, have seen a 48 per cent decline in voluntary income.
Anna McLoughlin, Fundraising Officer at Redthread, comments,
“We feel incredibly lucky to be benefitting from the donations of the HRLocker initiative. £100 would pay for immediate crisis intervention from a specialist youth worker, for a young person arriving at hospital in pain, fear and shock after a violent injury.
“In these times of uncertainty and change, young people need Redthread more than ever and as a charity, the generosity of businesses is incredibly important to the delivery of our services.”
Coleman adds, “Charities, like Redthread, need our support during this time. The work they do in helping the most vulnerable in society is critical. I would urge businesses to please give this initiative of business helping business helping charities their consideration. Every penny raised will go to our charity partners and it stands to benefit everyone, from the vulnerable and elderly, to people in crisis, to companies.”
